By downloading, installing, or using ScanFixAI ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.
1. Description of Service
ScanFixAI is an automotive diagnostic software application that reads data from your vehicle's onboard computer (OBD-II system) via a compatible adapter. The Software provides diagnostic trouble code (DTC) interpretation, AI-powered analysis, as-built data read & compare, and related diagnostic functionality. Write-based features — vehicle coding, as-built writes, and ECU programming — are offered as guided writes in preview and unlock per-vehicle only after the specific write has been verified on a real vehicle.
ScanFixAI is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional mechanic diagnosis, inspection, or repair.
2. Free and Pro Tiers
Free Version
ScanFixAI offers a free tier that includes vehicle scanning, reading diagnostic trouble codes from all modules, plain-English explanations, code clearing, and one AI analysis per day. The free version requires no payment or account.
Pro License
ScanFixAI Pro unlocks all features including unlimited AI analysis, guided diagnostic tests, as-built data read & compare (with guided coding/ECU-programming/key-programming writes in preview, verified per-vehicle), an AI tuning advisor, wiring diagrams, vehicle inspection reports, and all advanced tools.
Two pricing options are available:
- Monthly: $29.99 per period (one-time payment, valid for 30 days)
- Annual: $249.99 per period (one-time payment, valid for 365 days)
All plans are one-time payments, not recurring subscriptions. Your license will not auto-renew and your payment method will not be charged again without your explicit action.
Each license key is valid for one device at a time. You may deactivate your license and move it to a different device at any time through the License tab in the app.
3. Refund Policy
All sales are final. ScanFixAI Pro purchases are non-refundable.
- ScanFixAI offers a free version that lets you scan your vehicle and see the full list of features included in Pro before you buy. Because you can confirm the app works with your specific vehicle and adapter — and see exactly what Pro includes — at no cost, purchases are not refundable.
- We strongly encourage you to use the free version first to confirm compatibility with your vehicle and OBD-II adapter before upgrading to Pro.
- If you run into a technical problem with Pro, contact support@scanfixai.com and we will work with you to resolve it.
4. Diagnostic Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: ScanFixAI provides diagnostic information and suggestions based on data read from your vehicle's onboard computer and AI analysis. This information is for reference only. ScanFixAI does not replace professional mechanic inspection, diagnosis, or repair. Always verify critical safety-related repairs with a qualified, certified technician before performing work on your vehicle.
- AI analysis results are suggestions, not definitive diagnoses. Actual vehicle conditions may differ from what sensor data indicates.
- Severity ratings and repair urgency indicators are estimates and should be confirmed by a qualified technician.
- The Software may not detect all vehicle problems, especially those that do not trigger diagnostic trouble codes.
5. Vehicle Coding, ECU Programming, and Modifications
WARNING: Write-based features — vehicle coding, as-built data modifications, ECU programming, and key programming — are provided as guided writes in preview and unlock for a specific vehicle only after that write has been verified on a real car; the AI tuning feature is an advisory tool only and does not itself flash your ECU. Any vehicle modification you perform through ScanFixAI is done entirely at your own risk. Incorrect modifications can cause vehicle malfunction, disable safety systems, void your manufacturer warranty, or cause damage to vehicle electronics.
- You are solely responsible for understanding the implications of any changes you make to your vehicle's configuration.
- Always back up your vehicle's as-built data before making any changes.
- Modifications to emissions-related systems may violate federal and state environmental regulations.
- ScanFixAI and its developers are not liable for any damage, malfunction, warranty voidance, or legal consequences resulting from vehicle modifications performed using the Software.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- ScanFixAI is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- The developers of ScanFixAI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Software.
- This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, vehicle damage, bodily injury, data loss, or business interruption.
- In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. User Responsibilities
- You agree to use ScanFixAI only with vehicles you own or have explicit authorization to diagnose.
- You will not use the Software for any fraudulent purpose, including but not limited to odometer tampering, emissions defeat, or concealing vehicle defects for sale.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Software complies with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- You will not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Software.
- You will not share, redistribute, or resell your license key.
8. Intellectual Property
ScanFixAI, including its code, design, AI models, diagnostic databases, and all related intellectual property, is owned by ScanFixAI and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Your purchase of a Pro license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Software for personal or commercial diagnostic purposes, subject to these Terms.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. In summary: all vehicle diagnostic data stays on your device, we do not collect personal information through the app, and we do not sell user data.
10. Third-Party Trademarks
Ford, General Motors, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Infiniti, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Subaru, Mazda, and all other manufacturer names and logos are registered trademarks of their respective owners.
ScanFixAI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer. References to manufacturer names are solely to indicate vehicle compatibility.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to revoke your license if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to: sharing license keys, using the Software for fraudulent purposes, or attempting to circumvent the license system.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at scanfixai.com/terms.html with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Lake County, Florida.
